Celebrate Fall with the Wood River Orchestra

Join us on Sunday November 8 at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater in Hailey for our Fall concert. Fresh from the summer break, our musicians are practicing hard to prepare for the season opener.

The concert program includes two works. Joseph Haydn’s 103rd symphony begins with an ominous rumble from the timpani, a feature that earned it the title of “Drumroll Symphony.” This is followed by “The Lark Ascending”, an ethereal and evocative work by English composer Ralph Vaughan-Williams. Based on a poem by George Meredith that describes how the song of the lark seems to float skyward until it drifts beyond hearing, the work features a solo violin part performed by WRO concert master Stephen Graham.

The fall concert will commence at 4pm on Sunday November 8 in the Hailey Community Campus. Admission is free as always.
